On March 28, 2008, the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking announcing the proposed adoption of the No Significant Risk Level (NSRL) for the chemical C.I. Direct Blue 218 and amend Title 27, California Code of Regulations, Section 25705(b) (27 CCR Section 25705(b) (formerly 22 CCR, Section 12705(b)). A 45‑day public comment period was provided commencing from the publication of the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on March 28, 2008 until May 12, 2008. The Notice also stated that a public hearing would be held on request. No request for a public hearing was received by OEHHA. No written comments were received by OEHHA. The Office of Administrative Law (OAL) approved the adoption of the NSRL for C.I. Direct Blue 218 and the amendment to Title 27, California Code of Regulations, Section 25705(b) on August 8, 2008. The regulation was filed with the Secretary of State on August 8, 2008 and will become effective September 7; 2008. OEHHA announces the availability of the regulatory text and the supporting rulemaking documents.
