Public Meeting on Toxics Information Clearinghouse scheduled for January 29, 2009

The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) will be hosting a public meeting on Thursday, January 29 in Sacramento. The purpose of the meeting is to brainstorm on hazard traits, toxicological and environmental endpoints, and other relevant data to be included in the Toxics Information Clearinghouse, which was established by SB 509 (Simitian, Chapter 560, Statutes of 2008). The Clearinghouse is being created as a central repository for available data on the hazards of toxic chemicals, with the goals of broadening the public accessibility of this information and educating the public and decision makers on our current knowledge about chemicals in commerce in California.

The meeting will be held from 9 am to 12 noon in the Sierra Hearing Room in the Cal/EPA building. For directions to the building visit http://www.calepa.ca.gov/EPABldg/location.htm. This meeting will also be webcast and can be viewed on the day of the meeting by following instructions given at: http://www.calepa.ca.gov/Broadcast.
