Ecological Risk Assessment
Ecological risk assessment (ERA) is a method for analyzing risk posed to the environment by chemical, physical, and biological stressors.
Because the field of ecological risk assessment is expanding from its original focus on chemical stressors to also examine risks associated with physical and biological stressors, there is a need for technical tools, analytical approaches and guidelines for conducting a more comprehensive ERA. The OEHHA Ecotoxicology Program collaborates with others to develop such tools and organize existing information into a user-friendly and understandable format.
