Air Toxicology and Epidemiology
Discussion of substances to be included in the Air Toxics Hot Spots Program Risk Assessment Guidelines, Part III: Technical Support Document "Determination of Noncancer Chronic Reference Exposure Levels"
[04/19/02]
Updated May 9, 2002
Updated July 10, 2002
The Scientific Review Panel for Toxic Air Contaminants will be considering chronic RELs for Fluorides including Hydrogen Fluoride, Phosphine and Triethylamine at their meeting on July 26th 2002. The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is providing draft toxicity summaries for the three compounds. The Hydrogen Flouride summary has been revised to include a Benchmark Calculation for the chronic REL. Due to lack of time the Panel was unable to consider these RELs at their meeting on April 26, 2002.
OEHHA is proposing that these three chronic reference exposure levels for substances be included in the Part III guideline document prepared by OEHHA staff. Part III describes the methods used to determine chronic reference exposure levels, at (or below) which no adverse health effects are anticipated from exposure to the listed chemicals. Once approved by the Panel, these substances become an addendum to the original report prepared by the Panel in February 2000.
May 9, 2002 Notice
OEHHA and CARB provided advance notice that the Scientific Review Panel for Toxic Air Contaminants would be considering chronic RELs for Fluorides including Hydrogen Fluoride, Phosphine and Triethylamine at the meeting on April 26th 2002, and OEHHA also provided the draft toxicity summaries that were to be presented for those compounds. However, due to lack of time the Panel was unable to consider these RELs at that meeting. It is anticipated that these will be considered at a future meeting, in which case advance notice will be provided on this site, and (possibly revised) text of the toxicity summaries to be considered will be made available
