Proposition 65

Most Current Proposition 65 No Significant Risk Levels (NSRLs) Maximum Allowable Dose Levels (MADLs)

Safe harbor levels, which include No Significant Risk Levels (NSRLs) for cancer-causing chemicals and Maximum Allowable Dose Levels (MADLs) for chemicals causing reproductive toxicity, have been established for many of the chemicals listed under Proposition 65. Exposure levels and discharges to drinking water sources that are below the safe harbor levels are exempt from the requirements of Proposition 65. A document that provides the status of OEHHA’s adoption or development of NSRLs and MADLs is available below.

• For information on recently added NSRLs or MADLs please check the latest Proposition 65 list. The Excel document there also includes the listing mechanism for each chemical listing and the safe harbor level, if one has been adopted. A hyperlink is provided for those chemicals for which the basis for listing documentation is available electronically. A hyperlink is provided for those safe harbor levels for which the risk assessment documentation is available electronically.
