School absences due to respiratory illness affect children,
their families and teachers. Unfortunately, there is very
little information about the respiratory health of
California's kids. The Office of Environmental Health
Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), the state agency responsible for
assessing environmental risks, is conducting a study of the
respiratory health of a sample of California's children,
located in the East Bay communities.
More information about the study and other resources for
the parents and teachers are available at the "Adults"
section. And the "Kids" corner has links to fun projects,
games and information about our lungs and our environment.
